Private Excursion to Chacchoben and Bacalar: Mayan Ruins Chacchoben There is a lot to discover in the Mayan ruins of Chacchoben, next to a town of the same name, where the Maya still live quite remote. We take you on a journey through time to the times of the ancient Maya. The constructions date from the second century to the ninth century AD. We get to know the local animals and plants, the religion of the Maya and the meaning of the sun and moon gods as well as elements in the architecture. Private Excursion to Chacchoben and Bacalar: Boat Tour on the Bacalar lagoon After visiting the archaeological site of Chacchoben, we go to the breathtaking lagoon of Bacalar. It takes about 30 minutes to get there. The boat is already waiting at the jetty of the lagoon. During a stunning boat ride, we discover the highlights of the lagoon in about 2.5 hours. The boat tour takes us to different cenotes, we pass by the beautiful coast and stop for a swim. Various types of birds accompany us on our journey. After the boat tour, a snack waits for us. The little pirate town Bacalar is worth a stop and on our way back to the ship we also pass Santo Pedro, also known as pineapple village.

Availability

The availability of our excursions can only be guaranteed after confirmation by us. If an excursion is not possible on your desired date, we will suggest another date or refund any payments already received.

Deposit

For a binding reservation we charge a deposit of 15% of the tour price. The remaining payment will be made in CASH on site. Please note that payment on site by credit card is not possible. If you would like to inquire about the tour without a binding reservation, please contact us.

Customization of Excursions

Under special circumstances we adapt our tours to external conditions. We discuss this individually with our customers. Adjustments will be made, for example, if the weather changes at short notice. We also adapt excursions for cruisers to the berthing times of cruise ships.

Cancellation policy

• With the reservation we charge a deposit. We keep these as administration fees for “no-show” guests.
• We value small group sizes. Therefore, we use smaller boats for our excursions. These boats do not have a toilet on board!!!
• It can happen that our boat excursion has to be cancelled due to bad weather (strong wind and waves). If the tour cannot be rescheduled to another day, we will of course refund any deposits made. Unfortunately, we cannot pay for any other costs incurred. However, we will gladly make every effort to provide substitute services. In addition, we do everything in our power to inform about such cancellations as early as possible.

We refund the deposit, if

• You cancel the excursion at least 24 hours before
• If you have to cancel the excursion for whatever reason, please inform us as soon as possible. We might be able to sell the excursion elsewhere and will refund the deposit.
• This excursion was cancelled by Leon Tours
• If your cruise ship does not dock in Costa Maya on the day you booked, we will be happy to provide you with a transferable voucher valid for the amount of deposit for a future visit or refund 50% of your deposit.
