Excursion to Bacalar: Boat Tour on the lagoon of 7 colors A very special jewel in Mexico is the Lagoon of Seven Colors near Bacalar. It is actually a lake and was named for the many shades of blue that shimmer in the sunlight. The water of the lagoon is fed by underground cenotes. We will take a boat ride on the lagoon of Bacalar and visit various sights. Besides the cenotes and the bird island, we have the opportunity to swim in the shallows of the so-called pirate island. There you can refresh yourself and admire the intense turquoise water.
- Boat trip on the lagoon: Named after the many shades of blue, it is called the lagoon of seven colors. The water feeds from underground cenotes. We will discover some of them during a boat trip. Refresh yourself with a swim in the fresh water and marvel at the intense turquoise water.

Boat Tour on the Lagoon of Bacalar – Pirate Town Bacalar
This excursion to Bacalar is one of the most beautiful Costa Maya excursions and an excellent combination of the best Costa Maya sights. From our meeting point we will drive together in an air-conditioned vehicle to the Bacalar Lagoon. From Costa Maya this trip takes about 1.5 hours. Experience the impressive colors of the Bacalar Lagoon and discover the historical pirate castle of Bacalar. Excursion to Bacalar: Boat trip on the lagoon Upon our arrival at the Bacalar Lagoon, the boat is already waiting for us. We will discover the highlights of the lagoon in about 2 hours. The boat trip will take us to different cenotes, we will drive along the beautiful coastline and stop for a swim. Different species of birds accompany us on our trip. Excursion to Bacalar: Pirate City of Bacalar Before we start our return trip to the Costa Maya, we visit the pirate village of Bacalar with a fortress above the lagoon. From there we have a fantastic view before we start the return trip to the ship.

Availability The availability of our excursions can only be guaranteed after confirmation by us. If an excursion is not possible on your desired date, we will suggest another date or refund any payments already received. Deposit For a binding reservation we charge a deposit of 10% of the tour price. The remaining payment will be made in CASH on site. Please note that payment on site by credit card is not possible. If you would like to inquire about the tour without a binding reservation, please contact us.
Customization of Excursions Under special circumstances we adapt our tours to external conditions. We discuss this individually with our customers. Adjustments will be made, for example, if the weather changes at short notice. We also adapt excursions for cruisers to the berthing times of cruise ships.
Cancellation policy
- With the reservation we charge a deposit. We keep these as administration fees for “no-show” guests.
- We value small group sizes. Therefore, we use smaller boats for our excursions. These boats do not have a toilet on board!!!
- It can happen that our boat excursion has to be cancelled due to bad weather (strong wind and waves). If the tour cannot be rescheduled to another day, we will of course refund any deposits made. Unfortunately, we cannot pay for any other costs incurred. However, we will gladly make every effort to provide substitute services. In addition, we do everything in our power to inform about such cancellations as early as possible.
We refund the deposit, if
- You cancel the excursion at least 24 hours before
- If you have to cancel the excursion for whatever reason, please inform us as soon as possible. We might be able to sell the excursion elsewhere and will refund the deposit.
- This excursion was cancelled by Leon Tours
- If your cruise ship does not dock in Costa Maya on the day you booked, we will be happy to provide you with a transferable voucher valid for the amount of deposit for a future visit or refund 50% of your deposit.
