Cozumel Highlights: Top sights and attractions

Discover the best sights on Cozumel in a private atmosphere. The Cozumel Highlights excursion with a offers a fantastic combination of Mayan culture, island life and the beach.

With our local guide, we visit the top sights on Cozumel. We immerse ourselves in the history of the ancient Maya, their way of life, religion and world view. In the national park, we discover the native animal and plant species as well as the island's underwater world.

A touch of Robinson Crusoe feeling awaits us on the wild side of Cozumel. More than a thousand years of history await us in the abandoned Mayan ruins of San Gervasio, in the middle of the Cozumel jungle.

The uninhabited eastern side offers secluded beaches and an impressive photo backdrop. In the national park with its indigenous flora and fauna, we experience the underwater world with the snorkeling equipment provided (weather permitting).

Cozumel Highlights: Top sights and attractions

Mayan ruins – Undeveloped East Coast – National Park – Mayan Replicas – Cenote & Beach Break

This excursion Cozumel Highlights: The best sights on Cozumel is customizable. You are welcome to make requests if you would like to include additional stops. We look forward to making this private Cozumel island tour the highlight of your vacation.

Cozumel highlights: San Gervasio (entrance fee included)

This excursion takes us to the largest archaeological site on Cozumel in the middle of the jungle – San Gervasio. Most of the constructions of the Mayan ruins can be dated to the Late Classic period between 1200 – 1500 AD. It is an excursion into pre-Columbian times, into the world of the Mayan gods and their traditions. We gain a better understanding of the indigenous peoples of Central America and their architecture, mathematics, astronomy and religion.

Compared to the massive archaeological sites of the Riviera Maya, the Mayan ruins on Cozumel are relatively small, but full of history and mystery. They are definitely worth a visit.

Cozumel Highlights: The east side of Cozumel

We then take you to the beautiful and uninhabited east coast of Cozumel. We spend some time on the wild Pescadores beach (Spanish: fisherman). The beautiful headland invites you to take a walk or dip your feet in the crystal-clear water.

Cozumel Highlights: Chancanaab National Park

We have various options for spending our time in Chancanaab National Park. A tour in the tropical garden with replicas of the ancient peoples of Mexico brings us closer to past cultures. The view over the cenote in Chancanaab is magical. Figures off the coast and the magical underwater world can be discovered while snorkeling (weather permitting). Afterwards we enjoy a typical local lunch and linger on the Caribbean beach.

(On days with a large number of cruise guests, we offer an alternative stay in the quieter Punta Sur National Park).
